Based on the Sigil of Zagan from the Ars Goetia of King Solomon, this mystical cross is reputed to make the wearer witty and bestow on her or him the power to turn wine into water, metal into coins, and even make fools wise. The Ars Goetia (The Art of the Goetia) is the first part of The Lesser Key of Solomon. It contains a detailed description of the seventy-two demons that King Solomon invoked, confined into a bronze vessel sealed by magic symbols, and were obliged to work for Solomon when they were needed. Zagan is depicted as a griffin-winged bull that transforms into a man. Other authors portray him as a man with a head of a bull and with the wings of a griffin.
